- This collection covers the last three stages of a paint job: surface prep (scuff pads), clear coat leveling (wet/dry sheets + foam discs), and spot repair (SpotFix). None of these products are for primer or filler work.
- The BN38 wet/dry SiC sheets are the only product here rated for wet sanding — use with water at P800–P2000 for clear coat leveling before foam disc polishing.
- FlexPro 6" foam discs for large panels (hood, roof, doors); FlexPro 3" foam discs for mirrors, trim, A-pillars, and anywhere the 6" won’t fit cleanly.
- SpotFix 1-1/4" PSA discs are for individual dust nibs and runs — sand the defect only, not the surrounding panel. 100-pack for production use.
- Scuff pads (SiC + AO, 20-pack) are reusable — use SiC pads for paint degloss and metal prep, AO pads for primer scuffing and plastic adhesion prep.
- Sequence matters: scuff or wet sand first, then foam disc polish, then machine compound if needed. Skipping stages leaves scratches that show under gloss.
The finishing stages are where most paint jobs either succeed or get sent back. A dust nib that gets polished over instead of cut out shows up in direct sunlight. Orange peel that gets compounded without leveling first just moves the texture around. The products here are for doing it right — in the right order.

The Finishing Sequence
| Step | Product | Grit / Grade |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Surface prep before paint — degloss, adhesion | Scuff Pads SiC + AO | Ultra Fine / Very Fine |
| 2. Wet sand clear coat to level orange peel | BN38 SiC Wet/Dry Sheets | P800–P1500 |
| 3. Refine wet sand scratches | BN38 SiC Wet/Dry Sheets | P1500–P2000 |
| 4. Foam disc polish — main finishing step | FlexPro Foam 6" or 3" | P2000 → P3000 → P5000 |
| 5. Spot repair — individual nibs and runs only | SpotFix 1-1/4" PSA | P2000–P5000 |

From a Customer
"The FlexPro Fine Finishing Foam Discs are absolutely amazing! They deliver a smooth, high-gloss finish every time. The 6" disc is perfect for larger panels, while the 3" version is great for detail work around the trim and mirrors. These discs are my go-to for polishing vehicles to perfection!"

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the correct order to use these finishing products?
The correct sequence is: (1) scuff pads for surface prep and degloss before painting, (2) BN38 wet/dry sheets at P800-P1500 to level orange peel in the clear coat after it cures, (3) BN38 at P1500-P2000 to refine the wet sand scratches, (4) FlexPro foam discs at P2000 then P3000 then P5000 to polish out the sanding marks and build gloss, (5) SpotFix 1-1/4 inch discs for any individual dust nibs or runs that need spot treatment. Skipping steps leaves scratches visible under direct light.
Can I use the FlexPro foam discs without wet sanding first?
Yes, if the clear coat surface is already smooth enough. If the clear coat has significant orange peel or texture, wet sand with BN38 sheets at P1000-P1500 first to level the surface before using foam discs. If the clear coat is relatively flat (common with modern spray guns and controlled environments), you can start directly with FlexPro P2000 foam discs. Trying to remove heavy orange peel with foam discs alone takes much longer and produces inconsistent results.
When should I use the 3" foam discs instead of the 6"?
Use the 3" foam discs for mirrors, A-pillars, door handles, trim edges, and any area where the 6" disc cannot sit flat without the edge catching. The 3" disc also gives more control for spot correction on small defects. Use the 6" disc for large flat or gently curved panels - hood, roof, doors, and fenders - where coverage speed matters. Both discs use the same P2000-P5000 grit range and the same 3D pyramid SiC abrasive structure.
How do I use the SpotFix discs for dust nib removal?
Identify the nib or run in the clear coat. Attach a SpotFix disc to a 1-1/4 inch PSA backing plate on a spot polisher (Flex XCE, Rupes iBrid Nano) or use by hand on a small rubber block. Sand only the defect area with light pressure - the goal is to cut the nib flush with the surrounding clear coat without sanding through it. Start at P2000 for larger nibs, P3000 for smaller ones. After cutting the nib flat, blend with P5000 and then polish the spot with a foam disc to restore gloss.
Can the BN38 wet/dry sheets be used dry?
Yes. The BN38 sheets are rated for both wet and dry use. For clear coat and paint work, wet sanding with water is recommended at P800 and above - water lubricates the surface, reduces heat, and flushes away sanding debris for a cleaner cut. For bare metal prep and primer sanding at P80-P400, dry use is fine. The latex-backed paper holds up to water without delaminating or tearing.
Do the FlexPro foam discs work with Rupes LHR15 and LHR21?
Yes. The FlexPro 6" foam discs fit the Rupes LHR15 and LHR21 directly via hook-and-loop. The Rupes long-throw orbital motion works well with the 3D pyramid foam structure for clear coat leveling and orange peel removal. Use P2000 for initial leveling, P3000 to refine, and P5000 before applying machine compound or finishing polish.
Are the scuff pads reusable?
Yes. The non-woven construction does not load up like sandpaper. Rinse with water and let dry, or blow out with compressed air to restore the cutting surface. Each pad handles multiple uses before losing effectiveness. The 20-pack includes 10 Silicon Carbide pads (ultra fine, for paint degloss and metal scuffing) and 10 Aluminum Oxide pads (very fine, for primer scuffing and plastic adhesion prep).
