- Blue Ceramic F65 is the workhorse disc — semi-open coat, C-weight paper backing, self-sharpening ceramic grain. Lasts 3–4x longer than AO on the same surface. Best for P40–P800 on filler, bare metal, and primer.
- Gold AO F25 is the economy option — lower unit cost, good for high-volume rough stages where disc longevity is less critical than price per disc.
- The F65 6" 49-hole disc is the exact-fit option for Festool ETS 150 and RO 150. All other discs (8-hole and 15-hole) fit standard 5" and 6" DA sanders from any brand.
- The Velcro ceramic roll (2.75" × 13yd) is the most economical format for hand block sanding — cut to any length, no pre-cut waste.
- The BN38 SiC wet/dry sheets are the only wet-rated product in this collection — use with water at P800–P2000 for clear coat leveling and bare metal finishing.
- All discs are 50-pack. All dry sanding only except BN38 sheets.
Paper-backed ceramic discs are the right choice for the stages where you go through the most material — filler shaping, paint stripping, bare metal prep. The C-weight paper on the F65 is flexible enough to follow panel contours without the stiffness of film backing, which makes it the preferred disc for aggressive removal work. Switch to film (FF78 or FT77) when you get to primer finishing and above.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I choose Blue Ceramic F65 or Gold AO F25?
Choose Blue Ceramic F65 if disc longevity matters — it lasts 3-4x longer per disc than AO on the same surface because ceramic self-sharpens under heat instead of glazing. It is the better choice for production shops, hardwood, filler shaping, and metal prep where you want consistent cut rate throughout the disc life. Choose Gold AO F25 if unit cost is the priority — it costs less per disc and is the right option for high-volume rough stages like paint stripping and softwood sanding where you go through discs quickly and longevity is less important.
Does the F65 6" 49-hole disc fit my Festool sander?
Yes. The F65 6" 49-hole disc is the exact-fit disc for Festool 150mm random orbital sanders including the ETS 150/3, ETS 150/5, ETSC 125 (with adapter), RO 150 FEQ, and ES 150. Same 150mm diameter, same 49-hole StickFix pattern, same Hook and Loop backing. It is not compatible with Festool 125mm sanders — use the 5" 8-hole disc for those.
When should I switch from paper-backed to film-backed discs?
Switch to film-backed discs (FF78 or FT77) at the primer finishing stage and above. Paper-backed discs are ideal for P40-P320 on filler, bare metal, and rough primer work where aggressive cut matters more than scratch consistency. At P320 and finer, film backing stays flatter under sander pressure and produces more consistent scratch patterns than paper, which tends to curl at the edges at fine grits. For P400+ primer finishing and any aluminum work, use the FT77 PuroFilm film disc instead.
How do I use the ceramic Velcro roll with a sanding block?
The PURO Ceramic Velcro roll is kiss-cut for easy tearing — tear or cut to the length of your sanding block and attach directly to any hook-and-loop (Velcro) sanding block face. The chevron multi-hole pattern aligns with most longboard vacuum ports for dust extraction. For the FastPlus FB2 longboard block (15.75 inch), cut to 15.75 inch. For the FB1 short block (7.8 inch), cut to 7.8 inch. Store unused roll in a sealed bag to prevent the hook-and-loop backing from collecting dust.
Can I use the BN38 wet/dry sheets dry?
Yes. The BN38 sheets work both wet and dry. For clear coat and paint work at P800 and above, wet sanding with water is recommended — water lubricates the surface, reduces heat, and flushes sanding debris for a cleaner cut. For bare metal prep and primer sanding at P80-P400, dry use is fine. The latex-backed paper holds up to water without delaminating. Cut to any size with scissors for use on hand blocks, sanding sticks, or by hand.
What grit sequence should I use for automotive filler sanding?
Start with P80 (F65 Blue Ceramic) to shape the filler and remove high spots. Move to P120-P150 to blend the filler edges to the surrounding panel. Sand to P180-P220 to remove P120 scratches before applying primer. The F65 semi-open coat handles filler dust without loading up as fast as closed-coat discs. After primer, switch to P320 (FF78 or FT77 film disc) for primer sanding before base coat.
Do the 5" and 6" discs fit the same sander?
No. 5 inch (125mm) and 6 inch (150mm) discs are not interchangeable. Match the disc diameter to your sander backing pad size. Most professional DA sanders used in auto body shops are 6 inch. 5 inch sanders are common in woodworking and for smaller detail work. If you are unsure, check the backing pad diameter stamped on the pad or in your sander manual.
