| Formats | 6" disc (47H universal, 119H Mirka), 2.75" hook and loop roll (chevron multi-hole) |
| Important note | No 5-inch disc or aluminum oxide option at 150G — all 3 products are 6-inch ceramic or ceramic roll |

- Only 3 FastPlus products carry a 150G variant — all ceramic, all 6-inch or roll format. No 5-inch disc or aluminum oxide option exists at this grit.
- 150 grit is the minimum required grit before staining tight-grain species like maple, cherry, and birch — stopping at 120 causes blotchy absorption.
- For water-based finishes, 150 grit often provides better adhesion than 180 — the slightly coarser scratch profile gives the finish more mechanical tooth.
- In automotive work, 150 grit is the standard scuff grit for bare metal before epoxy primer and for scuffing cured primer before guide coat blocking.
- The FF78 47H is the only 6-inch disc at 150G that fits all sanders — the F65 49H (Festool-specific) does not have a 150G variant.
- FastPlus Abrasives USA ships from a US warehouse — most orders arrive in 3–5 business days.
Three Products. One Job. Getting the Surface Right Before the Finish Goes On.
150 grit is a narrow but important grit. Not every product line carries it — in the FastPlus lineup, only three products have a 150G variant, and all three are ceramic. That is not a coincidence. At 150 grit, you are doing final prep work where disc consistency matters most: the surface you leave behind is the surface the finish sees. A disc that dulls halfway through a panel leaves an uneven scratch pattern that shows up under stain or clear coat.
The three products here cover the two main use cases for 150 grit: 6-inch random orbital disc work (two hole pattern options depending on your sander) and longboard or hand block work with the 2.75-inch ceramic roll. If you need a 5-inch disc or an aluminum oxide option at 150G, those variants do not exist in the current FastPlus lineup — the closest alternatives are the 120 grit or 180 grit collections.

Which One Should You Buy?
| Your Setup | Best Choice | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Mirka DEROS / DEOS | PuroFilm Purple 119H | 119 holes maximize Mirka dust extraction — disc stays cutting longer |
| Festool ETS 150 / RO 150 / any other 6" sander | FF78 Blue 47H | Universal 47H fits all 6" pads — F65 49H has no 150G variant |
| Longboard block (hook and loop) | PURO Ceramic Roll H&L | Kiss-cut strips, chevron holes, ceramic grain for body panel prep |
| 5-inch sander or aluminum oxide needed | Not available at 150G | Use 120 grit or 180 grit instead |
Where 150 Grit Fits in the Sequence
| Job | Sequence | Skip 150? |
|---|---|---|
| Maple / cherry (water-based stain) | 80 → 120 → 150 → 180 → stain | No — blotchy absorption without it |
| Cabinet doors (water-based lacquer) | 80 → 120 → 150 → finish | No — 120 leaves visible scratches under lacquer |
| Oak flooring (oil-based poly) | 80 → 120 → 150 → finish | Optional on open-grain oak |
| Auto body primer scuff | 120 → 150 → guide coat → 320 | No — standard scuff grit for primer |
| Bare metal before epoxy primer | 80 → 150 → epoxy primer | No — provides adhesion profile for epoxy |
